MyMapNotes is a Location-Based-Service that connects notes with specific GPS locations. The MapNote triggers a notification when the iPhone is approaching the geotagged coordinates - right-in-time.
HOWTO DISABLE BACKGROUND GPS
MyMapNotes is also working in the background. This is why the location indicator arrow in the top right corner is visible all the time. To disable background location monitoring go to the settings screen by clicking the settings button and disable background GPS. But remender that with location services disabled you will not receive any alerts from MyMapNotes.
The application is using the new background Monitoring Significant Location Change technology. Hence, MyMapNotes is NOT reducing battery life dramatically but runs smoothly and energy efficiently in the background with slightly less accuracy.
Anyway we have to mention that:
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
